Auditions

Wanna be in a radio play?

Below is a list for all the parts we currently have open to auditions.  If you see a part below that you like to give a go, record a sample of yourself playing the role and send it to timelord23@hotmail.com as an MP3 at CD quality (128 kbs, 44 kHz) with the name you wish to be credited with. If you have a demo reel, please feel free to attach it to the audition.  If you are successful we will be in touch with a complete script to record.

Please take note of the deadlines, as decisions will be taken at that point with nearly no exceptions.  If you have difficulties meeting a deadline please let me know.  Also note that we will only consider auditions from people who send us the lines listed below - please don't just send us links or resumes with other roles you've played, we want to hear you playing these roles.

Good luck!

Race Against Chime

(to be recorded and released early 2012)

AUDITIONS DEADLINE - January 31 2012

Sir Benjamin Hall (male, late 50's)

A Victorian-era politician and baron, Hall has a pompous attitude and doesn't take fools gladly. While always polite, he doesn't hold back to speak his mind and hasn't gotten to the high position of First Commissioner of Works for nothing. Think Winston Churchill or a competent Henry Jago.

Lines:

[as a speech]

"Ladies and Gentlemen of London! It has been many long years in the making, and the road has indeed been hard with many unavoidable setbacks, but finally, the end is at hand! Today we stand at the birth of a new age. With the installation of the Great Bell you see before you, at last the new Palace of Westminster will be complete!  This bell, this Great Bell is the largest in the world! The hard working men behind me have been toiling away for the last day and a half to install be bell into its new home, the largest clock the world has ever seen! Tonight the bell will chime for the very first time, changing forever the way all of London will measure time! Ladies and Gentlemen, this is an historic moment. The future of our fair city has never looked so bright! Please, give your appreciation to these hard working labourers, making history this very day!"

[angry]

"No I do not understand you, Denison, and I don’t appreciate your tone. We have as many men as possible working on installing the Great Bell and they are all working as fast as humanly possible. I will not push them any further to meet some superficial deadline. Do you understand me?"

Esmerelda (female, older sounding)

Your traditional blind mysterious gypsy woman - Romanian accent, crystal ball, huge earings, the works. Esmerelda takes a sick joy in proclaiming the end of the world - but is there more to what she's saying?

Lines:

"Fortunes read! Fortunes read! Come to Esmeralda and I will tell you of the portents to come! I can impart to you the secrets of the future, come, come! You! Yes, you, care to have your fortune read young lady?"

"This is what is to come. When the Great Bell rings its first, it will be the death knell of us all. The dead themselves will rise!"

"Do you doubt your own senses? I show you the future! You must prevent this, you must stop the Great Bell from ringing in this apocalypse!"
